And… putting things off until the very last minute… as always. On the upside, I’ve actually been reading. Makes me feel all happy and good inside. Anyway, here’s this week’s snippet.
“Hello, young man,” the knight said, kneeling before the cheerful boy. “Are you and Amara well?” The boy seemed in good health, dirty but healthy. He couldn’t see the girl called Amara from her hiding place in the shadows. He suspected something terrible had happened, even if the boy didn’t show it. Young children were surprisingly resilient during tragedies.
The boy turned, as if looking into the black where his companion lay. “She’ll be okay…

Great snippet! Kids are supposed to be dirty, it makes them healthier. There’s scientific proof! Hope you’ve found lots of great books to read!

Oh, I’ve finally started in on reading like crazy. I think I’ve almost wiped out my backlog of books for review. There’s one more for review (and lots of emails to sift through of people requesting reviews). I think I’ve read eight books in less than a week…

True enough, children are very resilient. Amara is hiding, but where? Like the snippet.

Intriguing. What did happen, and why is she hiding? Definitely want to know more!

Oh, I like that. Interesting comment. But the question is, was she ever in control at all?

Interesting. Makes me want to know what happened with the boy and his sister. I like the knight. 🙂

Great excerpt! Now to get Amara out of hiding… (I love her name, by the way!)

Thanks, now I might just have to keep it. 😉 I had been thinking about changing it in the long run, but now I guess I can’t.

Nice 8, Danielle. He seems to be living the Knight’s code. I like how the little boy is protective of his sister. And I wonder what happens next.
Have you ever read “Song of Roland”?
I’m glad you got to read this week. It’s such am pleasant pursuit. 🙂

Thanks. Never read “Song of Roland.”
Oh, I love reading. Sometimes, I just get in these funks where I don’t read at all. I had a month like that at the beginning of the year. Granted, I more than make up for it when I am reading. I think my record is nine or ten books in a week.
