So, early on in September, I decided to focus mostly on Tristan’s Choice. I started freaking out about cutting things too tight and decided I was going to try to get the line editing done by November (NaNoWriMo). That’ll give me time to get all the little details done and send out review copies for my time runs out. I don’t like cutting things close. It stresses me out, though I do tend to get really productive when i’m feeling the pressure.
In this last week, I have spent almost 11 hours editing Tristan’s Choice (most in the last few days) because I really wanted to finish the draft before the end of the month. In fact, I wrote this post at 11pm on 9/30 because I had just finished the draft minutes before.
This means that I didn’t get any progress in Shifting Cargo, though. I would like to get that done by NaNoWriMo as well so I can start on a fresh project in November, but it also wouldn’t be the first time I rebelled in November. Last year, I worked on about 4-5 projects, clearing out a bunch of partials and eventually starting a new project. So the question is can I line edit an entire book and write somewhere around 12k words all in one month…
We’ll see…
