I was really struggling with the theme (B story/character arc) for Shifting Sides in October. The needs and wants for the MC were so similar, it made it hard for me to visualize her character arc. There was too much nuance. I was really starting to hate the story at one point…

Early in the month, I bought some bluetooth noise cancelling headphones, which felt a bit like a game changer for me. I’ve gotten a lot more done, managed to stay focused longer, start earlier, and get more done while I am working. I don’t feel as torn in all directions and (bonus), the headphones don’t hurt my ears/head like most do.

Lessons Learned:

• Noise cancelling headphones are a godsend!

Progress:  Did almost nothing, but I was better prepared than I thought.

Progress:  Finished Draft 3. Started Draft 4. Delayed working on blurb as there were significant changed to the plot/theme that impacted that step. Received feedback on cover art and will evaluate for editing.

Deadline Status: On time

November 2020 Goals

• Shifting Sides: Continue Draft 4. Finalize Cover Art. Finalize blurb.
• Shifting Paradigms: Write 50,000 words.
