Progress Report: #NaNoWriMo for the Win!

I’ve reached the 50k word mark with Matched to the Alien Prince! Sadly, though, that doesn’t mean I can sit back on my laurels, because I still have 12 more scene placeholders left in my file. There’s still a ways to go, but hitting 50k does feel good.

I’ve also come up with an idea for the third book in the series. I’m planning it to be Rekhem’s story (Rekhem being the crown prince of Savala and brother to the MMC in the book I’m working on now). I foresee political intrigue, some awkward situations (like maybe he doesn’t tell anyone that he signed up for the matchmaking service and yeah… he’s still engaged to someone else). No cheating, of course, but a smile is coming to my face as I imagine a scene where his human match is chewing him out for being a coward for not telling anyone he wasn’t going to go through with the arranged marriage.

I just signed a contract for a boxed set I’ll be participating in during 2024. That year is probably going to be a bit weird with my publishing schedule because of it. The boxed set will throw a wrench in the works because it has longer deadlines, so I’m hoping I can squeeze time working on that story between other books in the coming year. We’ll see how well that goes. I’m not holding my breath, but I’ll do what I can.

Anyway, that’s it for this week,

Until next time,

Danielle
