Progress Report: July 2019 #amwriting #amediting

So, this month I had a family vacation, which cut into my time so I gave myself lesser goals to compensate.  We went to the Bay of Fundy in New Brunswick, Canada and Acadia National Park in Maine (and I’ll be sharing pictures on my social media soon).

I overestimated how much time it would take to do recording, which was great, and I managed to be consistent on doing recording, so my current strategy. there is working.  We’ll see how that continues once I transition over to the editing stages for the audiobook.  I’ve also caught a couple typos that I can fix in the other versions of the book before launch.

I’ve started Draft 4 (rewrites) for Tristan’s Choice, but since I’m currently adding additional scenes (and don’t know total scenes to add), I don’t have a percentage yet to calculate my progress.  I’m really liking the changes and am looking forward to sharing.  It’s really shaping up nicely.

Shifting Cargo is also coming along nicely.  At my current pace, I should be finished writing the book around the end of September.  And the editing I’m doing in Tristan’s Choice right now is really helping me to strengthen my first draft for Shifting Cargo, showing me things I’m missing and should add to give scenes more impact.

 

Mila’s Shift

End of July Goal: Reach 75% of recording audiobook.

Progress: Reached 84% of recording audiobook

Deadline Status: N/A

 

Tristan’s Choice

End of July Goal: Finish Draft 3 (Fictionary).  Reach 25% of Draft 4 (Rewrites).

Progress: I finished Draft 3.  I’ve started Draft 4.

Deadline Status: On Target

 

Shifting Cargo

End of July Goal: Reach 33,734 words written.

Progress:  Reached 34,017 Words.

Deadline Status: On Target

 

August 2019 Goals

  • Mila’s Shift: Finish recording.  Make progress editing audiobook.
  • Tristan’s Choice: Finish Draft 4 (Rewrites).
  • Shifting Cargo: Reach 42,817 words written.
