Just started line editing (Draft 4) a few days ago. I think I’m at the stage in every book where you think your book is crap. Started editing the first scene and ended up writing, “First scene needs more work” in my editing notes.
I also both feel good and concerned about my progress. Got started with this draft later than I wanted to (I wanted to get a 2 week head start, but that didn’t happen). It’s definitely nice seeing that 11% on my whiteboard (I put up a whiteboard this month to keep my progress nice and visible), but can’t help feeling it should be more.
Lessons [To Be] Learned:
- Don’t borrow trouble. The future will come when it comes. No need to worry about it.
