Progress Report: December 2020 #amediting

I feel like I did really well this month. I finished Draft 4 right on the day I’d hoped to (actually, I think it was a day early). This is practically something that needs a celebration as it feels like I’m always misjudging when I need to finish things and how long it will take me (Bad Dani!).

I discovered a new time management technique called the Flowtime Technique (Good Dani!). I adapted it to my needs this month and it has worked out really well. Draft 4 (Line editing) went a lot smoother than it has in the past as the technique involves taking breaks as your energy demands. So, I would do a scene, decide if I felt like doing another and then either take a break or keep going. My documented time spent is lower, but I’m getting more done per day, which is great. I’m hoping it will continue to help my productivity into the future. Hey, maybe I can even speed up my production schedule some day…

Lessons Learned:

  • Discovered a new method of time management which is working very well for me.
