The book has a strand of naughty humor woven throughout it that popped up when you least expected it.
The book does a good job at evoking emotional responses from the reader, any emotional response. The author isn’t too picky. Laughter, emotional pain, embarrassment, you name it. Oh, there are times I was laughing so hard I had tears pouring down my face. So hard my cheeks were hurting from laughing.
I could go into detail on all the things I loved about the book… but I promised the author no spoilers, and I really want you to enjoy it yourself, both shocked and surprised and begging for more.
The author has this way of portraying certain things. It is simultaneously so obviously perfect, and yet totally unexpected.
And I loved their powers. Some of them were just so wrong. Naughty… very naughty.
The ending of the book was wonderful, lots of action, tension, emotional outbursts. A screamed in frustration a bit at the ending. I wasn’t ready for it to end. It ended. A bit of a cliffhanger, but not so bad I’m pissed at the author. It is enough that, if there is another book — and there damn well better be — I want it NOW!!!!
I simultaneously want to scream at and kiss the author. I also want to shake her until a second book pops out…
