I want to read the next book so bad it isn’t funny!  I’m going nutso here.  It’s not fair!  I can’t sit still and simultaneously can’t decide between writing down my review and flipping out.  My emotions are definitely on a roller coaster right now…

Okay… breathe….
Starting from the beginning.  I wasn’t overly satisfied with how the story began.  It began exactly where the first book left off.  Exactly.  For someone who read the first book quite a few months ago, I was a little fuzzy, a little lost.  It took me a while to get into it because I didn’t feel like the author took enough time immersing the reader into the story.  It’s definitely not stand alone as far as I’m concerned.  For best results, read the first book, King Hall, immediately before.
However, the beginning was very fast-paced, driven.
Like with the first book, there was about a million places where I burst out laughing or wrote notes saying, “I loved that!”  It’s more serious that the first book, more emotionally wrenching, but still funny… a lot.
There were a lot of things I flat out expected, and cheered uproariously.  Other things took me by surprise, making me want to scream and roar, “No!”
The only other thing I would fuss at was her claiming that a hundred wolves came to Lily’s call (she’s a wolf shifter) in about a minute.  This pulled me out of the story for a second, because she wasn’t exaggerating.  Wolves are territorial (yes, I did a massive paper of wolf behavior in college and I still remember most of those details).  There would never be that many wolves in a single territory.  A half dozen, mostly pups, would be expected in an area with wolves.  A dozen would be pushing it.  I would be surprised if you found a hundred wolves in the entire state of Washington (where the scene was).
The book is definitely a roller coaster ride, and well worth the read.  I so badly want to read the next book, it’s not even funny.  I can’t remember the last time I wanted to read a book so badly, and I know it’s going to be a long, long time before I can read it.  Arg!
